Is it expected to happen? Their levels are actually hitting 0db sometimes, but isn't it a sad norm for modern records? Finally, a lot of records seem to be clipping judging by monitor LED levels. I've looked through UAD help pages, but I effectively have to reproduce steps recommended there every time I quit DAW.ģ. Am I missing some step in setting up automatical samplerate switching or something?ĭoes Apollo know to switch bit depth automatically, by the way? I didn't find any setting for that in console. Console might be showing 44.1 (and might be showing 88.2 from time to time), windows is set to use Apollo in 16 / 44.1 mode, but anyway I have to close Chrome, switch between samplerates in Console a bit (ending on 44.1) and then open Chrome again to get music to play right. If I've been playing through Apollo in DAW 24 / 88.2 and then switch to, for example, music in Google Chrome (after closing DAW), sound is distorted and crackling, like there's a disrepancy in sample rates. My apollo doesn't seem to get along with windows samplerates well. Shouldn't it be used by DAW exclusively when asio drivers are used? Does Windows mix those sounds in or are they mixed inside Apollo software? After all, Windows mixer is far from bit-perfect even if it just passes sound through itself.Ģ. My apollo seems to always be shared between DAW ASIO driver / ASIO music players and plays music from browser / system notification sounds (in glorius incorrect ringmodulating samplerate thanks Bill ) together with DAW sounds. I have several issues with my new apollo:ġ.
